Visit at Chukkadon Market · 8:06 AM

A morning market which quite a lot of interesting local food and snacks, mostly locals. The roadside stalls closed by 9AM. I love visiting the local market and trying local delicacies.

Visit at Wat Tham Suea (Tiger Cave Temple) · 10:18 AM

Beautiful Buddhist temple on top of a small hill in the middle of the rice fields. Be prepared to climb some stairs and be rewarded with the magnificent view and a huge Buddha statue, and beautiful temple complex. You can see the Pagoda building from next door.

Lunch at MEENA Cafe · 12:26 PM

A cafe which offer a great view of the Tiger Cave Temple from a paddy field, with many outdoor seatings to chill. Nice cakes, coffee and meal, at affordable prices. Spend at least 1-2h to chill and take photos.

Visit at Wat Ban Tham · 3:27 PM

To explore this temple involved a lot of stairs hiking, but it is quite rewarding as well. There is already a temple compound at the foothill. Up the stairs and you will meet with a dragon, and enter a dragon. There is a temple mid hill which offer a great view of the surroundings. You can enter a cave which host a large golden Buddha. Continue going up from the cave will lead to a golden Stupa at the top, an amazing place to chill and take on the positive energy of the temple.

Visit at สกายวอร์คเมืองกาญจนบุรี · 6:29 PM

This is the Khachanaburi SkyWalk, and also the Night Market / Walking Street on Saturday. Go during sunset on Saturday, you get the day view, night view and an excellent best night market experience in whole of Thailand. Plenty of street food stalls next to a park, where you can have a picnic to enjoy your meal (or even rent a picnic table and mat). The park is filled with lively activities: concert, skateboard, dancing, children playground, picnic, etc.

Visit at Safari Park Kanchanaburi · 12:07 PM

Feels like a very interesting safari experience with all the big cats: tiger, lion, puma and leopard. Buy some carrots before boarding the bus to feed the deers and giraffes. The highlight is actually the Giraffe Encounter: 1000B per person, you sit on a jeep while feeding giraffes and zebras. You need to book online probably weeks ahead, or you try your luck on the spot. Watch our YouTube Shorts or TikTok for the Giraffes Encounter experience.

Coffee at DAY'S CAFE · 3:06 PM

A simple cafe with nice dessert and coffee.

Dinner at The Village Farm To Café · 4:33 PM

A very famous cafe, connected to 2 other equally famous restaurants (probably same owner). The cafe is big and beautiful, with some cactus. Food wise is expensive and average. The main attractions is their big garden with lake and mountain view. A photogenic tree, and a Japanese bamboo walkway (really nice at night). Come before sunset, so you can enjoy the beauty of the park at daytime and nighttime.

Morning at The Tryst River Kwai · 9:00 AM

Breakfast can refill, quite a few variety offered.

Visit at Erawan Falls · 12:00 PM

To enter this park for foreigners, ticket purchase just be done through an app (fairly complex process). So need to make sure you have Internet connection, and credit card OTP is working. The park is really beautiful, layers upon layers of turquoise waterfalls. There are seven waterfalls on the hike up. If you just want to swim, the first few ones are the best. You do need to rent a life jacket. If you plan to hike to the top, you might not want to carry your life jacket along. Do allocate at least half a day here, or full day if you want to explore everything and swim. Water level at each level might varies depending on seasonality.

Stay at KG House · 4:30 PM

A simple lakeside stay with an absolutely gorgeous lake view surrounded by mountain. Such serene environment with a calming view, I could enjoy the view for the entire day. Free Kayak and SUP is offered. It is fun to try SUP for the first time. We explore the lake on Kayak the next morning, and found a beautiful secret spot.

Morning at Devasom Hua Hin Resort · 7:00 AM

Wake up early to enjoy the morning beach, nice breakfast and the beautiful side room.

Dessert at Kratom Intha · 1:25 PM

A beautiful cafe on a large compound. A huge lake filled with lotus. An A-frame wood and glass cafe with a indoor tree. Beautiful outdoor area to explore. Dessert is average.

Stay at The Tryst River Kwai · 8:24 PM

A nice riverside stay with good service. The room is small but comfortable. Do arrive before sunset, as the river view is much better with daylight. The room face east, so the sun shine into the room in the morning, which makes it pretty hot. You can have BBQ or Mookata dinner at the yard, which is nice and comfortable. They do offer some water activities with additional charges.

Breakfast at Je Ann Raan Jok · 7:53 AM

A simple and tasty breakfast place: porridge and toast.

Brunch at บ้านถั่วเย็น BaanTuaYen x The Life Space · 9:00 AM

A nice simple cafe with duck and goose, and a fish pond. The goose is friendly, cute and not aggressive, and the ducks are pretty much afraid of humans. Food is decent, just relax and chill with the animals.

Lunch at Parrotdise Organic Farm & Cafe · 11:54 AM

The food and dessert are nice. The attractions are the parrots (pretty playful one you warm up with them) and the pigs.

Visit at Khao Hin Lek Fai · 2:21 PM

Seems like viewpoints for the locals, with very little crowd. There are multiple viewpoints, offering a magnificent view of Hua Hin. Someone brought snacks to feed the monkey, so it attracted a lot of monkeys to gather on the rocky hill.

Dessert at Raan Michay Hua Hin Sticky Rice · 4:28 PM

A tourist shop for souvenirs and snacks. Price a bit higher, put you have many variation. We have tasted better mango sticky rice elsewhere, but we found the other local dessert are interesting to sample.

Stay at Devasom Hua Hin Resort · 5:00 PM

This is a really nice and comfortable boutique resort. The compound is not huge, but it has style and quiet. A nice lawn in the centre, with a swimming pool and a heart shape tree. The beach is pretty small though, with only rocks during high tide. The room are nice, big and comfortable. With a nice bathroom with a beautiful bathtub, and also a comfortable balcony with lounger. And yes, the mini is well stocked and free (no alcoholic drink). This is one of the most comfortable stay during our Thailand trip.

Dinner at Krua Jeanong Seafood · 7:00 PM

Hua Hin have a few famous seafood dinner spots, we chosen the least known ones. Chill seating by the beach. Food is pretty satisfying: fried fish (500B), fried prawn (250B) and scallops (250B).

Brunch at Jek Piek Seafood Restaurant · 10:59 AM

This is a local breakfast place, with a variety of rice, noodle and fish cakes. The food is pretty alright.

Dessert at Ban Pa Prang Dessert · 12:23 PM

Absolutely love this dessert place. No dine in, as most locals comes for takeaway, so we ate standing. There are 10 plus variety, most slightly thick and sweet, but I just love to sample local traditional dessert, full of unexpected flavours and surprises.

Visit at Chatchai Market · 1:24 PM

There are grocery stalls, a wet market with seafood and vegetables, dry seafood stalls and some street food around the market. It is always an interesting experience to visit the local market.

Coffee at Chiffon.Café · 1:43 PM

Wife says this place served the best dirty latte in whole of Thailand.

Massage at 99 THAI MASSAGE HUAHIN · 2:52 PM

One of the best Thai massage we have tried, we opt for full body 2 hours. The technique feels a bit different, feels like acupressure 穴位按摩, able to massage the correct spot without applying too much strength. Feels really comfortable after the massage.

Dinner at ร้านบ้านหมูสะเต๊ะหัวหิน · 6:46 PM

Huge food court with easily 50 stalls or more. We have a hard time picking what to eat. Fish cooked with salt and satay seems very popular, as we need to wait 30 minutes or more. Sadly it is quite average.

📅 Oct 29, 2023

Dessert at Natura Cafe · 11:24 AM

A simple garden cafe with its signature hanging plant using a fan cover. There is a restaurant and a cafe, we went for the cafe which is next to a canal. The coffee and cake is pretty decent, and just chill and relax in its surroundings. Many tourists on a boat tour do pass by the canal.

Lunch at Lom Talay · 1:02 PM

A popular place to stop by for seafood outside of Bangkok. It is a restaurant build on a fish pond, which is comfortable and scenic. We have fried fish, big head prawns and fried rice, which cost 900B. The seafood is fresh and nice, so we have a satisfying meal.
+1

Dinner at Payunh - Thai Restaurant Phetchaburi · 5:02 PM

Seems to be a classy restaurant which serves authentic Thai food, should be quite popular in this area. The environment is beautiful and comfortable. We order red curry with crab, and a pork fish plus drink, about 500B. Nice food and nice ambience.

Stay at Maleesa Place Hua Hin · 7:04 PM

Big, clean and comfortable. It is a studio unit, so there is a sofa and small kitchen, and balcony to hang cloth. Free coffee and snacks are offered in the common area. There is a tiny swimming pool. I believe this place offer short term rental, so staying feels comfortable. Location wise is decent, though not the most accessible by walking.

Visit at Cicada Market · 9:01 PM

Half of the market is craft related items, and the other half is food related. There are also 2 different stages for performance. It is nice and clean, but Tamarind next door seems to have more attractive food stalls. Parking is 50 Baht.

Supper at Tamarind Market · 9:55 PM

Food options feels better and cheaper than the Cicada Market next door.

Buy Internet SIM at AIS (Terminal 21) · 10:28 AM

I think AIS is the most expensive, and also the widest coverage. At airport it is 999B/30Days/10mbps. In town it is In town it is 700B/30Days/4mbps. There is also 49B registration fee. Don't don't seem to offer their cheaper monthly packages to tourist. The is also an online e-sim package for 899B/30Days/50GB.

Stay at Home16 Sukhumvit (Hostel16) · 2:15 PM

A popular backpacker hotel, if you enjoy mingling with new friends. Clean, organized and comfortable. Location might not be the most convenient, 15 minutes walk from the nearest station.

Dinner at Here Hai Restaurant เฮียให้ · 4:59 PM

Fresh, delicious and affordable seafood. Chunks of crab meat on top of an omelette, and loads of mantis prawns. I found Thailand seafood lacks a strong umami seafood taste, but make up for it in term of texture.

Dessert at After You Dessert Cafe · 7:00 PM

We got the Strawberry Cheesecake Kakigori (285B), it is expensive but really good. Smooth and sweet, but not overwhelming. One of the best dessert we have ever tasted.

Dinner at Bamee Kon Sae Lee (Thonglo) · 7:49 PM

Very good egg noodle with quite a few toppings to choose from, and we choose there one with everything. This is my wife's favorite egg noodle place in Thailand.

Dessert at Mae Varee Mango Sticky Rice · 8:17 PM

Really good Mango Sticky Rice: mango with nice texture and sweetness, and the rice is soft and doesn't lump together, and the crunchy stuff is real crunchy. The sticky rice here is top notch. The offer a small and big options, and you could try other Thai dessert/snack as well.

📅 Oct 22, 2023

Lunch at 潘香 Restoran Phun Heong Hainanese Chicken Rice · 1:14 PM

They serve delicious, large portions and affordable chicken rice. Hainanese Chicken Rice + BBQ Pork (RM 8) is pretty good, and the rice has the chicken flavored fragrant, albeit a bit soft. Roast Duck Rice + Roast Pork (RM 10) is slightly better than the chicken.

Coffee at HWC Coffee - IOI Mall Puchong · 3:48 PM

Good Cappuccino (RM 11.90). The lychee rose cake (RM 15.90) is pretty good, soft with different layers of texture and taste.

📅 Oct 21, 2023

Lunch at 海脚人 Hai Kah Lang Seafood Noodle and Fish Head Noodle · 2:30 PM

We went around 2.30PM on Saturday, so there was no queue. The selling point would be fresh seafood, simple and nothing fancy. It does bring out the natural flavors of seafood, not overcooked, simple and nicely done. We enjoy the Mix Seafood Noodle (RM 26.90). I think Lala (RM 10.90) and Fried Fish Cake (RM 8) are pretty good as well. The only disappointment is the Hainan Coffee (RM 3.80). The Crab Meat Porridge (RM 24.90) is probably not value for money.

Dessert at CHUMS · 4:40 PM

The coffee is alright, but the Tiramisu is pretty average given it is the signature and price point

Dinner at Yulek Street Food · 6:31 PM

Chee Cheong Fun really good, offer 2 types of CCF and 3 types of sauce. One piece is too little, go for at least two. I like the red bean dessert, nice texture and taste. The Prawn Mee is average.
